This is a sample case study I made for an interview process back in 2021.

Normally I wouldn’t share speculative work, as I try to focus on things I’ve actually shipped, but this one is pretty and it was fun! And yes, I got the job.

Everything’s made up and the points don’t matter (please tell me you got the Whose Line joke). Enjoy!

The Challenge
A new client, AcmeCorp**, have recognized a significant market opportunity: creating bank accounts that are accessible to children as young as five. Since they have taken on significant investment, they are preparing to build out the first version of their experiences. They have come to Proto to partner with designing and launching the ATM experience. You are part of the team leading the initial stages of this project.

**This is not a real company; this is an illustrative name for the sake of the exercise.

Key Questions:

  1. What are the primary requirements of an ATM for 5-year-olds?

  2. What would the primary experience of an account holder look like?

  3. Where are they key access points for this ATM and why?
